  • For information: the reference contained no taxonomic or nomenclatural information (I checked, before deletion), so is not an applicable data source for Wikispecies - MPF (talk) 21:31, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
@MPF: The reference was not merely a data source, but also a further reading reference on a species. @Neferkheperre: If I were you, Ray, I would stamp out this disgraceful behaviour by MPF quickly, before he turns his attentions to your edits of a similar nature to mine! Re: MTQ

edit

Hi! You're way to mark holotypes makes a lot of sense to me, and definitively works better than the current method. The pages contain information about the repositories, while the categories do their work of aggregating taxons. It's a nice work, congrats! Thanks also for completing my stub on MTQ: I'm not really an expert, and I fill up the pages with the data I have. But the project will not end in one day, so it's good that other users complete the work started by other.
The Challenger expedition is not new to me. I've encountered many Cnidarians first collected during this expedition. If I can give an advice, you should probably move the information about references and authorities to a separate page called: Challenger voyage (1873-1876), maintaining just the subcategories listed in Category:Challenger_voyage_taxa. I reckon that there are many taxons from that expedition, some of them now invalid; maybe sub-categories will come at hand. --Ruthven (talk) 19:37, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

This organization makes a lot of sense: a Categories used to list all the species collected during an expedition, or described by an author, or by a paper. we will arrive at that eventually, I presume.
I corrected the internal link on Template:Hoek, 1883, but I think that the link Wikispecies pages which cite this reference is redundant: you have exactly the same link on the left of the page. :) --Ruthven (talk) 09:25, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
It may be strictly redundant, but 99% of users have no idea of the existence of the link on left of the page. It is therefore extremely necessary Stho002 (talk) 21:34, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Reference templates

edit

Hi, I changed the link in that way so that it appears like an internal link and not an external one. This is always better, as any change in the WS url would be preserved in that way. I didn't know about {{sutst:reftemp}}: it has to be used everytime one creates a template about an author or references? --Ruthven (talk) 21:20, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Reposed"?

Musea

Neferkheperre,

Are you making for every museum a category like MNHUP? PeterR (talk) 20:20, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. Basically, yes. See MNHUP. Here is how it works: Last year, before you started editing on major scale, I discovered Holotype| to be effectively useless. Too much wading, and not enough information content. So I got on Village Pump with my new idea, which was to create top category Category:Repositories, under which would be repository main pages, titled by acronym, each with associated list category. It was approved, Ruthven and Marius have contributed. See CAS for repositories which use multiple main acronyms. Each acronym with its own category, all link to main repository and Category Repositories. Most repositories have only one acronym. I strive to locate online type collection pages. Each repository is supposed to have its unique acronym. This makes accessing very simple. Online type collection dbases have been very useful for me to locate type numbers for many species which did not list them in original descriptions.
SIO represents repository which uses one acronym, with prefixes to separate broad taxon type collections. These prefixes are not part of main acronym, and I list them on that repository mainpage.
I am happy to help you build these. I just need acronym and full name of museum. Neferkheperre (talk) 21:28, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please can you make one for ZFMK (Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig, Adenaueralle 160, Bonn D-53113, Germany).

Author Template

edit

Neferkheperre,

@Mariusm:@Accassidy: I see you change my author templates. with zoobank and species. This is the way that Sthoner did too. Do Mariusm, Accassidy and others agree too? I don't think so. PeterR (talk) 08:42, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Mariusm:@Accassidy:@PeterR:; I have been doing my author templates this way for some time, many months. Didn't get it from Sthoner directly. He never messed with my reference templates, although he joyfully plowed through my taxon pages. I got it from checking out Buckeridge, 1983, and liked that set up. I have spent very much time registering on Zoobank and listing on templates. Darwin, 1854, Hoek, 1883, Hoek, 1913, Wade, 1926. It provides good recaps of taxa proposed as new, in originally proposed form, as simple overview which can be followed to present accepted form. In fact, this is pivotal point for my scientific expeditions pages, which I originally proposed to Village Pump on Jan. 1, but everybody was more involved in edit war. See Challenger voyage (1873-1876)
Are we maybe getting too oversensitive? Neferkheperre (talk) 15:18, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Neferkheperre: @PeterR: I have to agree with Neferkheperre. The added information only enhances the template and gives it more value. Without it it's perfectly OK but with it it's better. Not all Stho's "innovations" were bad - we have to give him credit for that... Mariusm (talk) 15:29, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Mariusm:,@Neferkheperre:,@PeterR:. I can see no objection to adding links to ZooBank in the noinclude section of the Reference Templates, although I personally have a lot of trouble making the links work. For some reason my PC often hangs up and takes minutes to find the ZooBank page, if at all. Anyone else have this problem? I also note that Stho002 also used this template link on some pages where the link produced a nil return, and he made allowance for this by including a "No Record" option in the syntax. It seems odd to me to put in a link if it leads to that result. Such a link is useless and it would appear that it has been listed automatically without checking for a positive result. Accassidy (talk) 16:50, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Mariusm:,@Neferkheperre:,@Accassidy: What Neferkheperre is doing with his own templates is for him, but he don't have to change my templates. I have you (Mariusm) ask how to make an author template. You didn't mention about zoobank or mention all the new species or genera. Why is Neferkheperre changing my templates and not the templates from Accassidy? We have already a category:new species etc. I agree with the category: museum. So you can see which type are in a museum. I think that in the headline you have to write type species in:. What are we doing with Syntypes, allotypes, etc. PeterR (talk) 20:09, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@PeterR: Peter, If you have detail about a Type specimen that happens to be a Lectotype or Neotype, or even a number of Syntypes, you can put that after the Type Locality. See Philiris_refusa for a Lectotype example. Also, don't worry if extra detail is added on the Reference Template page in a way that is not included when the Reference is cited on a species page. Some people obviously find it useful to have nomenclaturial acts listed on the Reference page and there is no hard in it. Alan Accassidy (talk) 22:33, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
I will be addressing these soon, after Superbowl. Starts in 15 minutes. Very interesting and important discussion, and I have several things to add. Neferkheperre (talk) 22:52, 1 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@PeterR: @Accassidy: I think the reference template noinclude section is a great opportunity to add more useful information regarding the article contents: the list of genera and species it describes, the exact date of publication etc. (ZooBank isn't strictly required, it can be any other similar link). The advantage is that all this noninclude section is optional and isn't mandatory, so it can be skipped without causing any visible difference when a species/genus page is displayed. Mariusm (talk) 05:15, 2 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Accassidy: @Mariusm:,@Neferkheperre: In the past we had a section templates. My proposal is that we make a new author template, so every body works on the same manner. It is very simple: every body have to work after this template. People who don't get a warning and if that is no helping they will be block. PeterR (talk) 08:54, 2 February 2015 (UTC).Reply
@Mariusm:,@PeterR:. I have added some information to Help:Author_Names and Help:Reference_section that may be of use to others. Accassidy (talk) 15:57, 2 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Accassidy:   Thanks. I think you made a mistake. Instead of <nowiki>...</nowiki> it should be written <noinclude>...</noinclude>. Mariusm (talk) 16:15, 2 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Mariusm: Yes I did a booboo. Thanks, its now fixed. Accassidy (talk) 19:03, 2 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

BMNH

edit

Hi,

Acronyms used: NHM (Natural History Museum) is not correct. NHM = Naturhistorisches Museum, Bern, Switzerland. PeterR (talk) 15:37, 3 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

History of acronyms is serious can of worms. Many museums apparently changed them from time to time. Apparently NHM did refer to Naturhistorisches Museum, Bern, and also to Naturhistorisches Museum, Vienna. As acronym for BMNH, it is evidently now official, but not everybody uses it. NHML is also used.. I have not yet learned present name for Bern Museum, but Vienna has changed its acronym. Since this weekend, I have discovered two resources to help with unraveling acronyms. This website deals with acronyms; acronyms. While creating ZFMK, one type specimen source proves useful: Herder, Huylebrouck & Busse, 2010. See p. 110, entire page is list of acronyms as at 2010.
I note you listed Category:ZFMK with MNHU. Neferkheperre (talk) 19:59, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Author template consensus

edit

It's important to standardize the author-template names. The consensus which most of the editors adhere to is the following format: Author1, Author2 & Author3, YEAR (and not Author1; Author; Author; YEAR). It just makes article searches easier and WS more homogeneous. Thanks, Mariusm (talk) 05:49, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Great, @Mariusm:. I agree, and when I first started, I did use "&". Stho was changing things around. There has been such argument on this recently, and that part was not entirely clear. When I cite in papers I have published, and am writing now, I typically use Author1, Author2 and Author3. YEAR. Neferkheperre (talk) 09:12, 5 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sure, @PeterR:. I had that intention, but this week has been busy. Hopefully, things are settling down, and I can catch up. Meanwhile, as I make taxon authority pages for entomology authors, can you fill those out? I can deal with crustacean authorities, but I barely know any entomologists. Making author templates

edit

Hi,

@Accassidy: and @Mariusm: If you are making author templates like Template:Charrier, Correa et al., 2015 it should be done as following: Template: Charrier,Correa,Castro & Méndez, 2015 or Template:Charrier et al., 2015. Also you have the templatte add by Alsodes Alsodes and create Alsodes cantillanensis like this Alsodes cantillanensis PeterR (talk) 14:48, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yes, @PeterR:, but I prefer spaces after each "," like Charrier, Correa, Castro & Méndez, 2015. Mariusm (talk) 15:04, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ok. I had a bad example. PeterR (talk) 15:09, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
I would prefer using Author1, Author2 et al., YEAR over Author1 et al., YEAR. Reason; many authors seem to enjoy working as committees, and two authors reduces disambiguation. I agree with maximum 3 authors in title, but when there are 4 authors, Author1, Author2, Author3 et al., YEAR looks retarded. Neferkheperre (talk) 17:26, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@PeterR:,@Mariusm:, you can see one I made at Template:Rawlins, etal, 2014. The reference template name is really just a code, so it probably helps to keep spaces and other punctuation to a minimum. However, it doesn't really matter, because they are easy to search for and the Template title doesn't get seen unless someone really wants to edit it. Accassidy (talk) 20:16, 8 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

CORBIDI

Hi,

I can't add CORBIDI. It is a new museum Herpetology Collection, Centro de Ornitología y Biodiversidad, Lima, Peru. Maybe you can help PeterR (talk) 17:13, 9 February 2015 (UTC).Reply

Hi @PeterR:. I got it. I don't know what went wrong, but plugging CORBIDI into WikiSearch never resulted in existing page, nor tab to create one. I tried other approaches, and got nowhere. Getting somewhat steamed, I got onto one of your pages from Category CORBIDI, and found that page redlinked. Clicked it, and got Create Page. ????. No matter, it is done. Very new. Spaces for dbase links, nothing yet. Neferkheperre (talk) 19:32, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Lívia R. Pinheiro

edit

Nefer,

I think that Lívia Pinheiro have to be Lívia Rodrigues Pinheiro. See [1]. The name is Pinheiro, L.R. If I add the authorname it is Lívia Rodrigues Pinheiro. See also Template:Pinheiro & Gaal-Haszler, 2015. and S. Gaal-Haszler is Sabine Gaal-Haszler.See [2].PeterR (talk) 14:29, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. I finally got it all figured out. For those two taxon authors, I had no more information than that, from either Zootaxa or ZooBank. There are two Pinheiros in Brazil, who may be married. I made disambiguation page, and adjusted Livia Pinheiro's page, but did not make redirect. I did redirect S. Gaal-Heszler to Sabine Gaal-Heszler.
Wherever authorship links are red, I search for any permutations to avoid redundancy. Zootaxa and ZooBank are not totally consistent with spelling authors' names. I have been contributing to disambig pages when present. I should make more, as list of authors increases with posting Zootaxa refs like I have been doing. Stho never did too many taxon author pages.
Any help in authorship information is appreciated, and always adds to our completeness. Neferkheperre (talk) 20:00, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Country categories

edit

There was a decision to remove all those country related categories, but I thought all of them were done by Stho002. Did you not follow those discussions? I have been removing such categories since about two weeks now. If there's a wish to keep them, I have no problem with that, as long as it is the wish of the community. Now Im not sure how to go on with this, shall we reactivate that discussion? I have no intention what so ever, to remove your work, but if there's certain country related categories you need, its good if this so to speak approved by the community. How shall we do about this? How can I continue the work? Is there a very limited number of categories you use, which I can avoid, while removing the others? Dan Koehl (talk) 01:02, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

By all means, I don't want to destroy any of your work, or a category that is needed or creative for your work. On the other hand, it would be good with some sort of list, so I know what to avoid and not. And if possible, you mentioned endemic species, it could maybe help us all if the category has a relevant part in its name explaining this; not just category: something (Australia), but like endemic species from X, or like vise. Meanwhile, I try to see who made the category, and if its you, I don't delete the category from the files, but hope that we can establish some sort of system, where certain categories are approved or something like that. You may of course have yet alternative ideas and or suggestions, as long as it makes my clean up work easier, and that I don't destroy for you, would be very good. Dan Koehl (talk) 01:05, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
All of my categories on taxon pages are straight listings. I have no included templates except in author taxa categories. Only country categories I had or planned are for New Zealand, and Australia. Only reason for those was their relative isolation and high levels of endemism.
I am staying away from much emphasis on endemism because of its subjective nature. It has been demonstrated that much Southern Hemisphere endemism, particularly Crustacea, is caused by extinction of Northern Hemisphere Pleistocene extinctions of amphitropical taxa. This more reliction than endemism. In fact, much native New Zealand and Australian faunas are results of reliction.
What I have in mind is to create 2 intermeshed general category heirarchies, one geographical (without national boundaries, except N.Z. and Aust.), one ecological. Obligate symbionts and parasites would enter appropriate categories, as applicable. This right now just for my Cirripedia, and experimental, but I have devoted thought to making these heirarchies very simple to add to for other taxon group workers. Special Project page like our cleanup page sounds like best method to present it to our general community. Neferkheperre (talk) 13:21, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
For countries such categories should perhaps have "checklist" within the heading. Kempf EK (talk) 17:35, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for a clear answer. In order to avoid that I have to discuss, or give a motivation for those categories existence, to other users, I think it's a great idea if you could take up those issues on the cleanup page like you suggested. I haven't looked for, or searched for, if there's a list with "green" categories, and Im not sure we need this, but I guess in a situation when most users know that I remove a lot of templates and categories that contain "Australia" or NZ, it would be good if it was clear also with the community that those specific should be kept. And for me, when I sit for hours and search for those two words, and delete, in order to prevent that I do a mistake and remove your categories, it would be good to make them easily identified, with some words that differs from Stho002 cat: something Australia. Could you change their names to something more unique? Dan Koehl (talk) 23:17, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I shall begin developing my ideas for presentation soon. I like @Kempf EK:'s idea of using "checklist" to make any country categories unique. One good rule of thumb is to note that Stho's geographical categories were templated, mine not. Neferkheperre (talk) 23:54, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
If that is so, thts good, and makes it easier for identification. But Im afraid that I have found hundreds of categories, which are not templated. I may be wrong, but I think theres no such rule, some of his material are templates, and some are just categories. Dan Koehl (talk) 23:58, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Vladimir Viktorovich Dubatolov

edit

Nefer,

Why have you make a new author for Vladimir Viktorovich Dubatolov? . For many years it exist already Dubatolov. PeterR (talk) 06:20, 5 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. Actually, I didn't make that page. There is some confusion resulting in two different paths. When creating that Zootaxa template, Dubatolov was presented as Vladimir V. Dubatolov. When I previewed it, that name was blue-linked, and I was happy. Vladimir V. Dubatolov re-directs to Vladimir Viktorovich Dubatolov, which is one acceptable transliteration of that patronymic. If author name had red-linked, I always type last name only into search box on another Wikispecies tab, to check for different spellings or disambig pages. I then make any corrections or updates. This avoids creating duplicated author pages, and sometimes finds them. So, searching under Dubatolov would have re-directed straight to Vladimir Viktorovitch Dubatolov, and I would have been unaware of Viktorovich alternative. I notice something called AvocadoBot about two years ago, altered re-directs, possibly causing this problem.
I have not altered anything. I do observe that Vladimir Viktorovitch Dubatolov is much better developed and complete. In addition, -tch transliteration would be more proper to Germans, as -ch is more guttural. English -ch = German -tch, while English has no real German -ch sound. Hi @PeterR:; when entering that publication, name presented gave me that abbreviation already blue-linked. Just another example of inadvertant redundancy. When my preview shows blue links, I usually don't go any further. Mine went back to 2014, but I made it into redirect, updated yours, and added updated taxa category, deleting mine.
Thank you for pointing it out. Taxon author pages are in total disarray, I find many with name only, not even category links. Could this be corrected at the author's page in Wikispecies and the page should appear as Kwang-Tsao Shao and not as Shao Kwang-Tsao, please?--Haps (talk) 18:31, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I can fix it. It seemed strange at first, but in China, names are presented as family name first. Editor-in-chief is Chinese, so he might have missed it. Neferkheperre (talk) 20:51, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

L. Sonthonnax

edit

Nefer,

Please can you fix L. Sonthonnax with the full name?. I can't find bulletins with the full name, only L. Sonthonnax.PeterR (talk) 15:54, 29 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @PeterR:; Working on it. I did find one patronymic, Sonthonnaxia, and located original author and reference for it. Unfortunately, no useful etymology, but I am catching up those citations. I know someone at MNHN, and will ask. Neferkheperre (talk) 10:29, 30 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Luís Fábio Silveira

edit

dear Nefer, The page Luís F. Silveira created by you, already existed: Luís Fábio Silveira --Hector Bottai (talk) 17:48, 24 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Hector Bottai:. Thank you for pointing that out. I fixed it, combining mine into yours. When these redlink authors come up, I search them on Wikispecies by last name only. Every now and then, one page will not kick out. Neferkheperre (talk) 18:39, 24 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

David Sharp

edit

Nefer,

Is David Sharp the same as D.S. Sharp? PeterR (talk) 09:21, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. Apparently they are. However all original references digitized I looked at used Dr. D. Sharp, and BHL's author page listed David Sharp only. Only Wikispecies entry I could find for D.S. Sharp was Stilicoderus signatus by @Mariusm:. Probably safer to use David Sharp. Neferkheperre (talk) 13:43, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I found author reference pages with Sharp, D.S. If the official name is D.S. Sharp we have to use his full name. In the text you can mention that sometimes the name is D. Sharp. PeterR (talk) 13:09, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Category:repositories

Just letting you know that I started a conversation over at the Village Pump regarding certain issues that currently exist or are guaranteed to arise given the current lack of documentation of this categorisation scheme (which I approve of, I should point out). Category:CSIOC revert

edit

I'm applying the more basic changes as discussed at Wikispecies:Village Pump#Institution_abbreviations_and_Category:Repositories. The proposal to move collections under the relevant institution category seemed to have everyone's approval. With one exception (the AM/AMS/AMSA merger and the collection moves) I'm first documenting all recommended changes on my userpage if you want to keep track of what is likely to change under the proposed Wikispecies:Nontaxa_pages guidline. Circeus (talk) 00:01, 16 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Accidental revert. My computer screwed up, and I tried to reverse what I did. I am right now trying to adress some comrade who blanked out my whole talk page earlier. Neferkheperre (talk) 00:16, 16 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
No prob. Stuff Happens. Circeus (talk) 00:26, 16 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

ORCID

Hi,

I see you list some publications. You might like to register for an ORCID iD, and add it to your user page, as I have done on mine. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:41, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template:Biography

Thank you for using {{Biography}}, but please hold off until the community has agreed its final form; any instances created before then may need to be changed is parameters are removed or renamed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:20, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

OK. I guess we could consider it as beta testing, to get glitches worked out. As I am doing Zootaxa and Zookeys, I am creating 20-30 author pages per day, so it is not difficult to get way behind. Once I got my rhythm worked out, it is quite fast. Neferkheperre (talk) 12:58, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Zootaxa 4039 (3): 456–466

edit

Nefer,

Why don't you have made a template for Zootaxa 4039 (3): 456–466? Please can you make it? PeterR (talk) 11:46, 8 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. Last week was very busy for me with family things. I am still only on 4039 (2). I just jumped ahead to take care of that article for you. Hopefully, I will be largely caught up by tonight. Neferkheperre (talk) 14:25, 8 November 2015 (UTC).Reply
It was not a comment, but I thought maybe you had forgot to make it. I hope that everything is ok now again. Thanks for making the templatePeterR (talk) 15:14, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

taxa categories

edit

Thanks for the feedback. May I also ask you to please be kind and doublecheck my changes through KoehlBot, just to be on the safe side that the Bot is working perfectly. Apart from that, I experienced a couple of issues which I think has to be solved: This file, Category:Taxa_of_C._Johnson is pointing to a file with a link back to the old category, but the link is not visible, maybe theres a link to the old category from any of the templates?

Same problem here, I think those links has to be located and removed.

Any assistance creating non existing categories also greatly appreciated, Im trying to do too many things at one time now, and I may miss creating, or editing correctly, the new category.

Dan Koehl (talk) 16:03, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Dan Koehl:. Accumulated mess there. C. Johnson author page was redirected to Colin Johnson, as part of our intention to use full author names. I found Taxa of C. Johnson category on that redirect page, with link to one taxon, which was synonomized to another species. So I fixed it all, and deleted Taxa of C. Johnson.
we are going to be finding lots of these, as I am creating or updating about 50 author pages per day. Some have nothing but names, without even category link. I am pulling all up to accepted current format. Your bot will probably fish out many of these forgotten or orphaned links. I will check out your progress, but do alert me to any strange problems. I seem to be good at working them out. Neferkheperre (talk) 18:08, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Perfect, thank you. So far there's only minor problems to solve, but I will keep you updated on the various issues. Thanks a lot also for the work you are doing updating the categories. Once they are in order, there will be less work and confusion. The bot seems to work well, and yes, it will most probably find orphans, or rather, it already did. Dan Koehl (talk) 18:18, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
More cases: Rhagada felicitas, Acrotritia cunangra, Syrphetodes marrisi. Dan Koehl (talk) 19:00, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Neferkheperre, please take a look on the following files, where theres a need to remove link to Category:Taxa of P.H. Gosse: Pareuptychia summandosa, Natrix atra, Natrix callilaema. Once the link is removed, please be kind and delete the empty category. Dan Koehl (talk) 13:24, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

OK, @Dan Koehl:. All fixed now. Turns out these were on redirect pages. Neferkheperre (talk) 13:58, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot. Dan Koehl (talk) 14:13, 29 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

San Diego Museum of Natural History

edit

Nefer,

You make a museum for San Diego Museum of Natural History with acronym SDMNH. Official it is SDNHM. See [4] PeterR (talk) 11:05, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

publications authors

edit

Nefer,

We add the author templates in the author pages by year (latest year at last (2011-2012-2013 etc.). Under == references == after alphabet. PeterR (talk) 15:37, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

SDEI

edit

Nefer,

SDEI is todays museum.

It was first:

  • ENM: Entomologischen Nationalmuseums
  • DEM: Deutsches Entomologisches Museum
  • DEI: Deutsches Entomolisches Institut.

Please can you fix that? Thanks PeterR (talk) 09:11, 10 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nefer,

AME is now MGCL

Please can you fix it? Thanks PeterR (talk) 13:01, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @PeterR:. I will be to work on these two in next couple of days. McGuire has been for some years part of Florida Museum of Natural History, where I listed it, but never had any kind of dedicated acronym to redirect. They also have absorbed other entomology collections recently, and FLMNH has seriously extended and filled out its website. So I shall get it all upgraded. See UF. Now with GRBio, we can enhance our repositories greatly. Neferkheperre (talk) 15:28, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Reference format

edit

I apologize if I seem nitpicking, but you appear to be inconsistent with your ref format. I'm referring to the comma between the journal name and the issue number. For Zootaxa, you add no comma while for Zookeys you do add one. We agreed to be comma-less, so the Zootaxa format would be "correct" one. Mariusm (talk) 13:03, 21 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Most sorry. Always been somewhat habitual for me to use commas in that position. For Zootaxa, there is one template for building that part, Zootaxa in which year, volume etc. is inputted, and it generates doi and journal data automatically. I shall remember that.
