Welcome to Wikispecies!

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome! -- Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:41, 29 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Template Taxonbar

edit

Hello ChristianSW, please do not use Template:Taxonbar. For now, this template should not be used on Wikispecies, decided by vote, 17 May 2020. Databases that are used as references should be cited as links in the reference section. Kind regards, --Thiotrix (talk) 13:07, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Thiotrix: Traurig, so bleiben beide Projekte hinter ihrem Potential zurück. --ChristianSW (talk) 15:21, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Welcome back, ChristianSW! For your information, the {{Taxonbar}} template was corrected in 2022 and is now okay to use again. Please see Wikispecies:Village Pump/Archive 61#Taxonbar and Wikispecies:Requests for Comment/Archive 3#Taxonbar for details.

Temnostoma species

edit

Hello ChristianSW. I noticed that you've recently added three taxon names to the species list on the Temnostoma page, among with other contributions. Thank you for that! However, some of the (online) literature claim there may be many more; I've seen lists with 30 species or more. Are you sure that the current list on our Wikispecies page is complete, and up to date? Best regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 06:54, 13 February 2024 (UTC).Reply

Hi Tommy, because I'm not a professional, I have to proceed carefully and usually only make small changes. I'm glad for your help. Best regards, ChristianSW (talk) 07:01, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your swift reply. I've made a small alteration to the page, indicating that the list is probably incomplete. I'll also contact an entomologist in order to verify (and perhaps extend) the list.
In any case, keep up the good work. Professional or not, your contributions are both valid and valuable!  Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 07:33, 13 February 2024 (UTC).Reply
