- Syntypes: BMNH 1946.1.17.6, MNHN 1895.78, and ZSI 4381 [unknown], ZSI 6948 [Palni], ZSI 6950 [unknown], and ZSI 6972–75 [Madras], collected by R.H. Beddome between 1857–1863.
- Type locality: “Pulney Hills, 7000 to 8000 feet”.
