Holotype: AMNH 5956/4685, adult ♂, skin and skull.
Type locality: “Princestown [i.e., Princes Town], Trinidad,” further restricted to “a point twelve miles north of the southern coast and seven miles southeast of Princestown” (J.A. Allen and Chapman 1893: 203).
