Name

edit

Trogoptera notata (Walker, 1855)

Type locality: Brazil.

Holotype: OUM. Male. Type Lep: n°811, Genitalia prep. 403-1960. Saunders collection.

Synonyms

edit
  • Pamea notata Walker, 1855 (original combination)
  • Trogoptera notata (Walker, 1855) in Schaus, 1928

T. notata is supected to be the same species than T. excavata (Walker, 1855) whose type is a female from Brazil as well, as written by Schaus (1896). In doubt, these have been treated as separate species by authors since Schaus.
