Type locality: Australia, Queensland, Daintree N.P., NW Mossman, Manjal Jimalji (Devils Thumb) trail, S16° 23.571´ E145° 19.058´, sample 2, 377 m.
Holotype: QMB ARC3752 (EMBL # LN888232), ♂, 20-IV-2014.
Etymology: This epithet is a combination of the Latin prefix bi- (two) and the participle signatus (marked) and refers to the pair of squamose patches on the pronotum.
