- Type locality: Berlese and sifted leaf litter of a tropical dry forest at an elevation of 100 m at Parc National de Namoroka, 17.8 km 329° WNW Vilanandro, 16°22′36″S, 45°19′36″E, Mahajanga, 8–12 December 2002, Fisher-Griswold Arthropod Team.
- Etymology: Named in honor of the astronomer Johannes Kepler.
