Type locality: Lake Ejagham, Cross River basin, Manyu Subdivision, 5°45'N, 8°59'E [1], South-west Province, Cameroon.
Etymology: The species name ejagham refers both to Lake Ejagham as well as to the Ejagham people, whose major sacred site is Lake Ejagham.
