- Holotype: AMNH, male.
- Type locality: 400 Foot Cave, Glass Mountains, Brewster County, Texas, 30.38N, 103.15W.
- Etymology: This species name is derived from the Spanish name for the Glass Mountains “Sierra del Vidrio” in West Texas.
