Lectotype: MCZ “Pen / LectoTYPE / Eustrophus repandus Horn / MCZ Type 34039".
Type locality: Pennsylvania (“Its distribution seems to be across the northern half of our country from Canada and New Hampshire to Virginia, and from these points through all the States to the Pacific coast as far south as the extreme north of California”).
