Holotype: MRAC 71395. Paratypes: IRSNB 703-704 (2, 2); MRAC 35049 (1), 69655-57 (3), 71396-99 (4), 71442 (1), 79-01-P-4700-4703 (4), 79-01-P-4704-4708 (5).
Type locality: Kadia, Kisale, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Etymology: Species name dorsomaculatus derived from Latin dorsum meaning back, and the Latin macula, meaning spot, referring to the spotted back of the species.
