edit

Synodontis camelopardalis Poll, 1971: 430.

Holotype: MRAC 47654, (unique).

Type locality: Zaire [Democratic Republic of Congo]. Eala, Ruki River.

Etymology: Species name camelopardalis pertaining to a giraffe, its scientific species name is also camelopardalis. In S. camelopardalis probably its colouration reminded the author on a giraffe.
