- Type locality: COLOMBIA, Valle del Cauca, PNN Farallones de Cali, Anchicaya, 3°26'S, 76°48'W, 900 m, Malaise trap, 1 August – 10 October 2000, leg. S. Sarria.
- Etymology: The new species is named after the type locality, ”Cauca”.
