- Lectotype: MHNN 2275, adult ♂, collected by J.J. Tschudi between 1838–1842. [Designated by Carvalho (2021: 43)]
- Type locality: “Long tot. 1′2″”, specified as “in der Umgegend von Huacho, nördlich von Lima gefunden” in Tschudi (1846: 26).
