Holotype: BMNH 1926.4.14.86.7.517 (in alcohol), collected J.D.F. Gilchrist.

Type locality: “South Africa, depth unknown”.

Paratype (1): BMNH 1926.4.14.86.7.519 (in alcohol), from the same locality as the holotype.
