- Holotype: BMNH 1912.11.23.1, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Walter Goodfellow in March 1912.
- Type locality: “Mt. Arizan [= Alishan], Central Formosa [= Taiwan, China]. Alt. 8000' [= 2438 m]”.
