Holotype: BMNH 1842.10.7.1, dry skin and skull.

Type locality: “Marshy places, from Hudson's Bay to the Rocky Mountains”.

Holotype: USNM 229.061, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Hartley H.T. Jackson on 3 July 1918.
