Syntypes (2): USNM 11239, adult ♀, skull and skeleton (alcoholic part of this specimen was destroyed), collected by E.D. Cope on September 1859; USNM 38743, unknown.

Type locality: “Profile Lake, in the Franconia Mountains, [Grafton County,] New Hampshire”.
