Type locality: 4 km S from Santa Rosa, on the road to Las Balsas, 44 m above sea level, Provincia El Oro, Ecuador; 13 February 2009 at 21:00 h.
Etymology: refers to the Tsáchila people who inhabit the area within the range of Scinax tsachila in Ecuador.
