Saurenchelys gigas Lin et al., 2015

• Holotype: TOU-AE 6530.
• Paratypes: (10): USNM 408902 (formerly AE5948), 408903 (formerly AE5949); TOU-AE 5883, 5950, 6583, 6645, 6646, 6647, 6648; NMMBP 12465.

Type locality: ollected from the bottom trawl fish market at Daxi, Yilan, northeastern Taiwan, at a depth of approximately 100–200 meter.

Etymology: From the Latin gigas (= giant), referring to its large size.
