Type locality: Lake Ejagham, Cross River basin, Manyu Subdivision, 5°45'N, 8°59'E [1], South-west Province, Cameroon.
Etymology: Named for Jürg Lamprecht (1941–2000), who worked for his PhD on haplotilapiine cichlids, and who supported UKS as a mentor, teacher and friend at the Max-Planck-Institut (Seewiesen), and DN as a teacher.
