- Holotype: UIMNH 25045 (formerly EHT 3135), adult ♂, collected by E.H. Taylor and H.M. Smith on 22 July 1932.
- Type locality: “on mountainside about 3 km. southwest of Acultzingo, Veracruz”, Mexico.
