Ridewoodichthys (Taverne, 1967)

Etymology: After the late English zoologist Walter G. Ridewood (1867-1921) who was the first to provide a good osteological study of the skull in all the Recent families of the superorder Osteoglossomorpha. The Greek word ichthys (= fish) is added to his name.
