Holotype: Department of Entomology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Jiangsu Province, China. Female (slide number NJAUEri820, marked Holotype), from Lonicera rupicola Hook. f. et Thoms. (Caprifoliaceae).
Type locality: Beishan National Forest Park, Huzhu County, Qinghai Province, P. R. China, 36°53'35"N, 102°25'56"E, elevation 2610m, 22 July 2007, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue.
Etymology: The specific designation spinus is from the character of the dorsal opisthosomal microtubercles, spiny, “spina, spinus” in Latin; masculine in gender.
