  • Neotype: ANSP 174652.

Type locality: First Río Casiquirae caño, about 5 minutes from confluence of Río Casiquiare and Río Orinoco left side, Venezuela.

Etymology: local Arawak name for this species in Guyana. (From The ETYFish project)
