- Type locality: A stream tributary flowing into Zuo–Jiang of Zhu–Jiang (Pearl River) drainage at Jingxi County, Guangxi, South China
- Holotype: IHB 200808006
- Paratypes: IHB 200808002, 200808004–5
Etymology: The specific epithet is made from the Latin word longus ( = long) and barbus ( = barbel), in allusion to the presence of a pair of well-developed maxillary barbels.
