Type locality: U.S.A., Colorado, Garfield Co., Green River Formation, Parachute Creek Member, Locality 316, Douglas Pass–Emry 74 (T5S, R101W, sec. 29, SE NW SW NE; 39°35'47"N, 108°44'57"W), just below Mahogany Bench; = "Site C" in Dayvault et al. (1995); elev. 2650 m asl. Middle Eocene, Bridgerian.
