- Holotype: BMNH 1896.1.28.6, subadult ♀, skin, presented by Ludovic Söderström in 1896.
- Type locality: “Paramo of Papallacta”, Napo-Pastaza province, Ecuador.

edit- Colombia: Cordillera Central, Cordillera Occidental, and Cordillera Oriental of the Andes;
- Ecuador: Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Oriental of the Andes, from the province of Carchi in the north to the provinces of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe in the south;
- Peru: Cajamarca department.
