Type locality: Northwest Pacific, 39°57′00″N 165°07′48″E / 39.950000°N 165.130000°E / 39.950000; 165.130000, depth 5535 m.

Holotype: IORAS Cat. Nr ECH00036.

Etymology: named after David Leo Pawson.

Note: Mironov et al. (2019: 13) cite the species before its first description in 2020, both articles was intended to be published same year in the same volume but for some reason Gebruk, Kremenetskaia & Rouse (2020) was published next year in the next volume.
