- Holotype: NMSL 2013.07.01 NH, 03.iv.2010, adult female; coll. L.J.M.W., D.R.V., S.C.A. & A.W.A.C.
- Type locality: Sripada (Peak Wilderness), Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka (060 48’31”N & 800 28’14”E; 1335m).
- Etymology: Named after Ananda Vijith Samarakoon (Assistant Director, Department of Wildlife), in great appreciation of his efforts in educating the wildlife officers for the conservation of the country’s biodiversity at large.
