Holotype: BMNH 53.277, adult ♂, skin and skull.
Type locality: “Northern slopes of Mt. Wilhelm, [ca. 05°47'S, 145°01'E], Bismarck Range, North-East New Guinea [=Chimbu Province, Papua New Guinea], 8000 ft [=2440 m].”
