Pseudanos trimaculatus (Kner, 1858)

Syntype: NMW 62692 (1).

Type locality: Brazil, Amazon system, Rio Guaporé (apparently downstream from Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade).[1]

Etymology: The specific epithet trimaculatus is composed from the Latin tres (= three), and macula (= spot). It refers to the three spots on the flanks of the species.
