Neotype: FMNH 66153, ♂, collected by H. Hoogstraal & R.E. Kuntz on 27 January 1951. [designated by Marx (1988: 13–14).

Type locality: “Temen [=Yemen]”, redesigned by neotype designation to “Hodeida (= Al Hudaydah), Yemen” by Marx (1988: 13–14).
