Holotype: USM 39022. Paratypes: LSUMZ 14851 (9), 14852 (4); USM 39024 (9), 39025 (7), 39026 (5).

Type locality: Honduras, Department of Santa Barbara, Municipality of Macuelizo. Drainage: Chamelecón, System: Chamelecón. Locality: small creek that drains to the Chamelecón River, near the Chamelecón Hydroelectric Dam, 15.197667°N, 88.616°W.[1]

Eponymy: in honour of Brian R. Kreiser, the doctoral advisor and friend of the first author.
