Holotype: ZMUH, ♀, lost during World War II. [sensu Uzzell (1970: 9)]

Neotype: CBF 3437, adult ♂. [designated by Goicoechea et al. (2013: 9)]

Type locality: “Sorata, Bolivia”, redesigned by neotype designation to “Millipaya, 12 km S of Sorata (15°51′30.2″S/68°37′37.6″W), Province Larecaja, Department of La Paz, Bolivia, 3743 m”, by Goicoechea et al. (2013: 9).

Synonyms

• Proctoporus longicaudatus Andersson, 1914: 6 [synonymized by Uzzell (1970: 19)]

Holotype: SMNH 3224, ♂.

Type locality: “Pelechucio [=Pelechuco], Western Bolivia.”

• Proctoporus subsolanus Doan, Castoe & Arizábal-Arriaga, 2005: 330 [synonymized by Goicoechea et al. (2012: 960)]

Holotype: UTA R-52944, adult ♀.

Type locality: “the town of Sandia (14.34275º S, 69.46274º W), Province of Sandia, Department of Puno, Peru; 2100 m.”
