- Holotype: MNHNC 2000 (formerly LCUC 982), adult ♀, collected by Héctor Barrera and Madeleine Lamborot on 10 March 1984.
- Type locality: “El Volcán, Cajón del Maipo, Andean Range, lat 33°49’S, long 70°10’W, alt 1416 m, 60 km SE (roadline) Santiago”, Chile.
