Type locality: Caño Manu, tributary of River Casiquiare, Río Negro, Amazonas, Venezuela, 2°00'N, 66°57'W.
Etymology: an airy spirit, referring to tiny size (up to 15.1 mm SL) and translucent coloration in life. (From The ETYFish project)
