Name

• Podoxymys roraimae Anthony, 1929: 4

Holotype: AMNH 75586, adult ♀, skin, skull and body in alcohol.

Type locality: “Mt. Roraima, British Guiana; altitude 8600 feet.” Interpreted as “Guyana, Mazaruni-Potaro Dist., summit of Mt Roraima, 8600 ft (2621 m)” by Musser and Carleton (2005: 1164), but restricted by O. J. Linares (1998: 274) to the southwestern corner of Tepui Roraima (ca. 5.144°N, 60.762°S), between 2,580 and 2,700 m, Bolívar, Venezuela.
