Holotype: MUMF 11077. Paratypes: MUMF 11074–11076 (2), 11076–11084 (6), 11085–11086 (2), 11087–11089 (3); ZSI FF 4603/3 (3).

Type locality: India, Manipur, Chindwin basin, Lokchao River at Moreh, 24°15'03"N, 94°17'59"E, 212 m asl.

Etymology: The specific name is derived after the name of the basin where the species occurs: Chindwin.
