- Holotype: IBAUNC-769-6, adult ♂, collected by J.M. Cei, L.P. Castro and T. Ferreyra in December 1971.
- Type locality: “Payún plateau, 5 km from the Payún Volcan, 2000 m, South Mendoza Province, Argentina”.
