- Holotype: QCAZ 9924, adult ♂, collected by O. Torres-Carvajal, P. Mafla, and S. Báez on 11 October 2009.
- Type locality: “the upper valley of Río Léon (3.450°S, 79.1667°W, 1,855 m) near the Río Léon bridge on the old Onã-Cuenca road, Provincia Azuay, Ecuador”.
