Photonectes paxtoni Flynn & Klepadlo, 2012: 265

  • Holotype: AMS I.1970-243.
  • Paratype: AMS I.19727-023.

Type locality: 05°05'S, 145°56'E [1], off Madang, Papua New Guinea, 135 m depth.

Etymology: The name recognises Dr. John Paxton for his many contributions to the study of mesopelagic fishes and for his encouragement to the authors.
