Type locality and stratigraphy: Vladimir Region, Vyaznikovskii District, town of Vyazniki, Sokovka locality; Upper Permian, Upper Vyatkian Substage, Zhukovian Regional Stage, Vokhma Formation, Zhukov Member.
Etymology: From the Latin gentilis (coming from the same tribe, relative) in relation to ceratodontids.
