Holotype: NMNZ P.043687.

Type locality: Northeast edge of Mawson Bank, 71°55.80'S, 173°18.08'E, depth 1431-1658 meters.

Etymology: The species is named in honor of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Living Resources, CCAMLR, under whose auspices this species was collected. Thus the specific epithet camilarus.
