Name

Paracheilinus filamentosus Allen, 1974

Holotype: AMS I.16994-001. [Paratypes: AMS I.16995-001 (4), I.17479-001 (1), I.17496-001 (11); BPBM 14658 (6); MNHN 1973-0007 (1); USNM 209923 (7)].

Type locality: Outer reef off northern end of Kranket Island, about 2 nautical miles north of Madang, New Guinea, 5°11'24"S, 145°50'54"E, depth 32 meters.
