Paracanthocobitis pictilis (Kottelat, 2012)

Holotype: MHNG 2727.066. Paratypes: CMK 14601 (1), 17249 (2), 17509 (5), 17777 (5), 17967 (2), 18429 (1); MHNG 2727.067 (2); ZRC 53376 (1), 53377 (1).

Type locality: Stream 'Chon Son' between Kyondaw and Phadaw, about 20 km northwest of Payathouzu (at border with Thailand near Chedi Sam Ong, Three Pagoda Pass), ca. 15°25'N, 98°15'E, Kayin State, Myanmar.

Etymology: Latin for “embroided” (probably a misspelling of “embroidered”), referring to dark brown triangular saddles on upper half of body.
