  • Type locality: PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Irian Jaya: Jayawijaya, Gn. Elit, 3500 m.
  • Holotype: SMNS, ♂, 25.–26.IX.1992, leg. A. RIEDEL.
  • Etymology: The heavily armed paramere tips suggested the adjectival name, Lat. horribilis = terrible, frightening.
