Type locality: India, Karnataka, Subramanya, Kumaradhara river, 12°00'19"N, 75°53'24"E; 811 m a.s.l.

Etymology: The species name ammophila is derived from the Greek words ammos (= sand), and philos (= friend), referring to the habitat in which the species was collected. An adjective.
