- Type locality: CHINA: Guangdong Province, Mountain Danxia 86 m.
- Holotype: IZAS, ♂, 28-VII-2008, leg. Zhuo Yang.
- Etymology: The species name is derived from the Latin words volut - (rolling) and obliquus (oblique). It refers to the oblique shape of the dorsal plate of the aedeagus in this species.
