- Holotype: MNRJ 06241, ♂.
- Type locality: Brazil, State of Bahia, Elísio Medrado, RPPN Jequitibá (12°52'3.20"S, 39°28'9.09"W), R. Bertani, C.S. Fukushima and R.H. Nagahama, 07 October 2007, collected at night, found immature inside bromeliads, matured in captivity in May 2010.
- Etymology: The specific name refers to the lifestyle habits of this species, bromeliad endemism.
